This beautiful, well maintained and rare guitar is from the New York period of Epiphone manufacturing. It features a spruce top, maple sides, back and neck and a rosewood fret board with MOP position markers. The frets and board are in excellent condition. The headstock has MOP inlays.
The body is bound front and back as is the heal. As far as I know all parts are original and as manufactured in 1951.
The label inside states 'Epiphone Zenith 61811 Made in New York, NY'. The guitar is structurally perfect, with only the slightest evidence of being played. The action is low and fast and the tone is much like Gibson pre war flat tops. The guitar will need a new end pin which I will include in the case compartment. In addition to the original Gibson case (fair condition) there is some nice case candy as a bonus, a box of period Gibson strings and a simple tooled leather strap.
This guitar is in excellent condition and a joy to play.
